For this project, I used a white chalk pen on a 16x20 black canvas.
I always sketch my designs out in my sketchbook until I get the look that I want, then sketch it out on the canvas with chalk. After that I gently wipe away the chalk until there is just a faint sketch left. This gives the canvas a "ghosting" effect that chalkboards have and provides me with a guide to work from. After that I go over the whole thing with my chalk pen and wipe away the rest of the chalk sketch once the whole thing is dry!
I was thrilled so see this beautiful picture she posted on instagram after her shower. Isn't she stunning?!
I also LOVED what they did with it for the wedding. Her sister is also insanely creative. I'm pretty sure she made these crepe paper flowers and the banners that are framing the canvas. I love it!
